If a water meter shows inaccurate readings after replacement, is calibration or verification necessary?

1. Qualification Inspection Before First Use: New water meters have passed internal factory inspections and meet the requirements of the metrological instrument license, so they usually do not require further verification.
2. Legal Requirements for Abnormalities After Replacement: According to the "Urban Water Supply Service Quality Standard" and the water supply contract, users have the right to request the water supplier to conduct periodic verification or review of the replaced water meter to ensure accurate measurement.
3. Verification by a Professional Testing Agency: If a measurement deviation is suspected, a qualified metrological verification agency (such as a water flow testing center) should be commissioned to conduct on-site verification.  The meter can only be used after successful verification.
4. Distinction Between Calibration and Verification: Verification is a statutory metrological confirmation, while calibration is the adjustment of a meter that has deviated. If the verification results show that the error exceeds the allowable range, calibration or replacement is necessary.
