Water Meter Installation Location Requirements
1. The straight pipe length must comply with regulations.
The straight pipe length on the inlet side must be no less than 10 times the meter diameter, and no less than 5 times on the outlet side to ensure accurate metering and avoid water impact.
2. Maintain horizontal or vertical installation:
Propeller-type water meters should be installed horizontally, with the dial level; vertical propeller-type water meters should only be installed vertically, ensuring the dial is parallel to the pipe centerline.
3. Avoid vibration, strong light, and corrosive environments:
Water meters should not be installed in locations subject to strong earthquakes, direct sunlight, or high humidity or corrosion to prevent damage to the meter and measurement errors.
4. Ensure easy observation and maintenance:
The recommended installation height is between 0.8 and 1.2 meters, and 450 to 500 mm from the wall to facilitate on-site meter reading or remote reading.
How can I quickly and accurately read the digital/pointer readings of a mechanical water meter?
1. Observe the pointer position first.
The pointer on a mechanical water meter rotates clockwise, and the number it points to represents the accumulated water usage; each rotation corresponds to 100 cubic meters.
2. Pay attention to the value between the two numbers on the pointer.
If the pointer stops between two spaces, use the lower number as the current reading to prevent misreading.
3. Use a meter reader or handheld reader.
Modern meter readers can quickly detect the pointer position and automatically convert it to a number, improving reading efficiency and reducing human error.
4. Compare the two readings.
After recording the current reading, if necessary, read it again during the same time period to ensure that the change in value corresponds to actual water usage.
